What kind of video camera has a fish eye effect?

Friday, September 25th, 2009

i am making a snowboarding video and i want one of those cameras that has a fish eye effect. Do i need a specific camera or can i just use a video edditing software?

You can use a video editing software. Just add a pinch filter and blur the edges in a circular pattern. Then blur the outline. Or, you can buy the lens specifically for your camera online or something.

what camcorder/video camera to use to film skateboarding or snowboarding?

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

I’m looking into buying a camcorder to film skateboarding and snowboarding with friends. this would be my first camera, but i still want to get something good. I saw a thing called a camera caddie that is a handle that attaches to the camera and makes it easier. so if a camera has something like that available or built in that would be nice. I don’t really have a budget, but probably like $1000 max! i hope someone has some suggestions. thanks !!

I’ve been using my SD5 for several weeks now and I can find very little negative to say about it. Unlike the other reviewer’s comments, I really like the small size of the camera and find the ergonomics work well for me. I was able to master the use of the camera after only a couple of sessions, and it connects without problems with my MacBook Pro. I’ve been using iMovie 08 to edit the film, which couldn’t get any easier. Because of the large HD files, transferring the video to iMovie 08 can take a while, but I just do something else with my computer while the files are being converted. The video and sound quality are stunning, and the 10X optical zoom works smoothly and stays in focus. I filmed a live performance this past weekend, and even with the existing stage lighting the quality was remarkable. I’ve learned that it’s best to use the included DVD burner to save the files to DVD first before transferring to iMovie for editing, and the combination of these things works really well. The only thing I had to buy aside from the camcorder package was an 8 GB SD card, which I got for a bit more than $100. All in all a terrific little camera with stunning image quality!

Should I take my nice video camera or my cheap one when I go snowboarding?

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

I have two video cameras, one is brand new, records on HDD and is awesome quality. My other one is just a little Aiptek video camera worth $75- $100, but it’s quality isn’t great (but it’s not terrible). Which camera should I take with me on my 3 day snowboarding trip up to Vermont?

take the hd.. no one wants to watch a shitty video

Video Camera for Snowboarding?

Sunday, September 13th, 2009

I need a cheap, yet good quality, video camera that I can take snowboarding. It needs to be able to connect to my PC and work with windows movie maker. Also, it needs to be tough if I bail when its in my pocket. It doesn’t need to be HD or anything, just something simple that is small, compact, and can take a beating.

Thanks!

go to e bay and type spy camera stick get a camera with 640×480 avi resolution.

what video camera is good for snowboarding?

Thursday, September 10th, 2009

i want to get a video camera to record snowboarders during the winter. what video camera would be good for this. i dont want something big. im only willing to pay less than $400.

most camcorders are way too small to balance on, you should probably get an older broadcast camera. That should be big enough to stand on.

Waterproof Video Camera For Snowboarding?

Monday, September 7th, 2009

I was wondering where i can find a waterproof video camera to make videos for snowboarding so if it snows it does not break it!!!

I would suggest the Oregon Scientific ATC-2000 Helmet Cam – it a very easy camera to use and is very inexpensive – only around $100 – $125 and is shock- and splash-resistant:

It is made to mount to handle bars or a helmet but you don’t have to use it that way. You can even connect it directly to the computer or TV to watch the videos.

Otherwise, just get a really small digital camera. Canon is the best and the SD series have a metal body that can stand up to abuse – about $250. Yes, the batteries don’t last as long when it is cold (so you buy a couple extra rechargable batteries) and these are spash resistant so I’ve never had a problem:

Whats a good video camera to take snowboarding?

Friday, September 4th, 2009

It needs to be tough incase someone falls with it. and please no helmet cams. Ive looked at the flip video camera and it looks like it might break easily. Thanks for your help

Try the Panasonic SDR-SW20. It’s ideal for this kind of stuff as well as being useable underwater up to 1.5 metres. Brilliant. There is a review on Simplydv which says it is good. Also look at the SDR-S7, which is tiny.
