What video camera should i buy?

Im looking to shoot my first snowboard film this upcoming winter and want to buy a camera now so i can get used to it. Any suggestions for a camera that would be at home on the mountain?

I really like my JVC camcorder. It has a 20GB hard drive, from which you can transfer the video to your computer for editing and such. It is small and light and pretty easy to use. And it has one of those side screens that comes out to the side so you can see what you are filming. More precisely, it’s called the JVC Everio G Series Hard Disk Camcorder.

Get a tape transport Sony or Panasonic camera. If you want to get "the film look", you’ll want a camera that has cinema mode or shoots 24p (24 frames per second – like film).

One good option is a used DVX100a camera, but those can still run about 2000 dollars. For an inexpensive Canon, look into the HV20 which has 24p and is small. The Sony HC series is a good option as well.
