My new Snowboard Nike Jacket has a headphone symbol inside?

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

My jacket looks really cool, it has barely any wrinkles and looks like a suit lol! Anyways on the inside of my jacket on the right side there is a headphone symbol with a really tiny line hole. The opening is big enough to probably fit a quarter but Idk what it does. Even came with a headphone symbol on the tags of my jacket. Whats it do?
but it isn’t big enough..
I got a ipod nano and in order for that to fit it would need to be twice as big.

Its supposed to fit the cord, not the actual ipod or mp3 player.

I’m guessing the symbol is on left side of the jacket if your wearing it and looking down. There should be a pocket, either right next to the zipper, on the left side near the middle of the jacket, or a pocket on the inside of the jacket.

I have a north face jacket and a DC jacket and both have the same symbol and the almost hidden pocket is on both of them.

I have a classic Burton Snowboard sap jacket does anyboody out there know what it is worth?

Sunday, November 8th, 2009

The jacket is flannel fabric with what I think is some type of nylon fabric on the lower part of the back to sit on and not get wet. It has the Burton name and states "established 1977" with a picture of a snowboarder with a classic board with the tail "v".

A used jacket – I would say a maximum of $75 if it is a good color and not out of style. I would list it on eBay or Craigslist to sell it.

Good Luck

Can A tailor make a snowboard jacket smaller?

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

Hi I was just wondering If I brought in my jacket to a tailor since its not the same material if they can somehow make it smaller.

They should be able to. If not, just look in the yellow pages under alterations. You’ll find someone who can alter it to fit you.

do you have to wear a special jacket to snowboard and why?

do you have to wear a special jacket to snowboard and why?
cant i just wear a normal one?

A special jacket is waterproof so when you fall the snow wont get your jacket wet. A normal one would get wet when you fall then you are going down the mountain in a wet jacket.

What is the best way to wash a snowboard jacket at home???

Sunday, October 25th, 2009

Do they have to be dry cleaned or can I safely wash it at home in the washing machine???…Thanks…Tom Science 4

I wash all my waterproof jackets in Nickwax Tech Wash. This is much better for the garment than regular detergent. It is available at most ski and snowboard shops that sell jackets.

Using mild detergent is OK if you don’t have Tech Wash. Just follow the directions on the tag of the jacket. If you don’t have the washing directions, best bet is to wash and rinse in cold.

Tumble dry on low or no heat as heat can damage the synthetic material. Using fabric softner may cause the waterproof membrane to get clogged up and stop working.

If you need to re-waterproof, try washing the jacket with Nickwax TX Direct once the jacket has been washed with Tech Wash or detergent. It comes in wash-in and spray-on varieties…the wash-in is better.

I have a pair of ski pants that I use for snowmaking, patrolling, running lifts, and in the backcountry. They are about eight years old and I wash them in Tech Wash 2-3 times a season. They are still very waterproof and I plan to use them until they can’t be repaired anymore….I beat the snbt out of them.

What are the best ski/snowboard jacket/shell brands for tall people?

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

Im looking for a soft shell/ fleece baselayer to wear under a hardshell. I like the look of the Arc’Teryx gear but pretty expensive. I like stuff that’s fittted and longer in the sleaves. Any suggestions as far as pieces that run long and slim?

I really like spyder, i am tall and thin, also i like RIde and betty ride, they are pricier but very nice quality!
Hope this helps!!!
Thanks!

What are good pants to go with this snowboard jacket?

Monday, October 19th, 2009

I have this jacket: http://www.trails.com/gear/product.aspx?pid=21609

The green liner is much brighter than the picture shows, but now I’m wondering what pants I should put with it besides plain black pants… what do you guys think? My opinion is that going black head-to-toe seems a little strange since most people are in these flashy get-ups, but of course, correct me if I’m wrong.

Could put white pants with them and it will look good… or go opposite of green and put a blue or red pants with it and be "Out there" lol
